How to convert VTT to SRT

  1. Choose a UTF-8 WebVTT file or paste its content, including the WEBVTT header.
  2. Convert and review the cues. Notes, region settings, positioning and WebVTT styling are removed.
  3. Download SRT and check it in your player. Keep your original VTT for styles and metadata.
Are VTT timestamps preserved?

Yes. Valid start and end times are retained, the decimal separator changes to a comma, and cue numbers are regenerated.

What happens to positioning and speaker tags?

SRT cannot express all WebVTT features. The converter reports removal of metadata and presentation tags. Speaker annotations inside <v> tags are not added to the dialogue. Keep your original file.
